→ A Certificate of Transport of Dangerous Goods by Sea, issued by Bureau Veritas Solutions Marine & Offshore.

The Certificate of Transport of Dangerous Goods by Sea is obtained after completing the course and passing the online test.

Presentation

This Training Course includes an introduction to the different classes of dangerous goods, their divisions and subdivisions, and the IMO instruments that govern the transport of dangerous goods by sea. It presents the main requirements for the transport of dangerous goods in packaged form and the transport of solid dangerous goods in bulk.

Whom the course is for

The course Transport of Dangerous Goods by Sea is aimed at anyone interested in understanding the regulatory framework that governs the transport of dangerous goods by sea. This may include: Ship Managers, Technical Superintendents, Ship Masters, Officers and Seafarers; Shipyards Technical Staff; Surveyors; P&I and/or Insurance Inspectors; Naval Architects; Marine Engineers; Etc.

Objectives

On completion of the training, students will be able to:

  • Understand the different classes, divisions and sub-divisions of dangerous goods, and the main requirements of the SOLAS for the carriage of dangerous goods in packaged form and in bulk.
  • Understand the requirements for prevention of incidents, for protection of people on board and the firefighting equipment required to detect, contain and suppress any fire.
  • Identify the applicable requirements depending on the cargo space where dangerous goods are transported and the class of the dangerous goods transported.
